AUTONOMOUS AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FOR AN AIRCRAFT
DRIVE
March 11, 2026
An autonomous air conditioning system (100) for an aircraft comprises a compressor (10) compressing ambient air and supplying compressed air, a first part of said compressed air being injected into a cabin (17) of the aircraft so as to condition the air of the cabin (17) in pressure and temperature. The autonomous system (100) further comprises an electric motor (11) supplying mechanical energy to the compressor (10). The system comprises a fuel cell assembly (16) supplied with air by a second part of the compressed air supplied by the compressor (10), and supplying electrical energy, the electric motor (11) being electrically powered by the electrical energy supplied by the fuel cell assembly (16). Thus, the air conditioning of the cabin air is carried out in an autonomous manner, which avoids modifying a preexisting electrical network of the aircraft.
