The present invention relates to a pouch-shaped secondary battery having a protective film with improved adhesion and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly to a pouch-shaped secondary battery including a case configured to have a laminate sheet structure, an electrode assembly received in the case, an electrode tab extending from the electrode assembly, an electrode lead having one side connected to the electrode tab and another side protruding out of the case, and a protective film located on an upper surface and a lower surface of a weld (W) of the electrode tab and the electrode lead, wherein the protective film includes an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA)-based adhesive layer disposed in tight contact with the surface of the weld and a support layer located on one surface of the adhesive layer, the support layer being made of at least one of polypylene (PP), cast polypylene (CPP), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or a method of manufacturing the same.
