COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

The present disclosure relates to a collision warning system for a vehicle, a vehicle comprising such collision warning system, a collision warning method, and a computer program element for such collision warning system.The collision warning system comprises an imaging sensor unit, an image processing unit and a control unit. The imaging sensor unit is configured to generate pedestrian information data of at least one pedestrian standing at an imminent crosswalk. The image processing unit is configured to extract face data from the pedestrian information data and determine based on the face data, in which direction a face of the pedestrian is oriented. The control unit is configured to determine that the pedestrian will cross the imminent crosswalk, if the face of the pedestrian is oriented towards the imminent crosswalk.
