Railway wheel with a central plane perpendicular to the wheel's axis of rotation, with a wheel rim consisting of a tread surface and flange, a wheel disk and a wheel hub. The cross-section profile of the wheel disk lies along the theoretical centerline, which extends between a point located in the transition region of the wheel disk to the wheel rim and a point located in the transition region of the wheel disk to the wheel hub, wherein the point and the point lie on a single plane, wherein the plane is spaced from the central plane by a distance H1 in the direction of the circumference.
