The present invention relates to a silencer (2, 2') for a pneumatic brake silencer assembly (10, 10') for a vehicle, comprising: a silencer inlet (21) configured to receive a pressurized pneumatic flow; a silencer outlet (22) configured to release the pneumatic flow after passing the silencer (2, 2') from the silencer inlet (21) to the silencer outlet (22); a basket (2c) extending from the silencer inlet (21) to the silencer outlet (22); a knitted mesh (2a) received in the basket (2c); and a wire mesh (2b) received in the basket (2c) and arranged between the knitted mesh (2a) and the silencer outlet (22).
