DIGITAL KEY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A method for revoking access of a digital key to a vehicle includes providing a first key access revocation request to a computer server of a manufacturer of the vehicle. The method additionally includes providing, by the computer server of the manufacturer of the vehicle, a second key access revocation request to the vehicle. Additionally, the method includes in response to the second key access revocation request, revoking, through one or more controllers in the vehicle, the digital key. Further, the method involves, after revocation of the digital key, informing a key tracking server that the digital key has been revoked. Further still, the method includes after informing the key tracking server that the digital key has been revoked, removing the digital key from electronic key media on which the digital key resides.
