The internal combustion engine includes multiple cylinders, multiple fuel injection valves, an intake passage, and a purge port. The purge port discharges purge gas containing fuel vapor generated in the fuel tank to the intake passage. The processing circuitry of the controller individually corrects fuel injection amounts of the fuel injection valves such that a fuel injection amount of the fuel injection valve corresponding to a cylinder into which a large amount of the purge gas is introduced is smaller than a fuel injection amount of the fuel injection valve corresponding to a cylinder into which a small amount of the purge gas is introduced.",
