The present disclosure relates to a control system (10) for an electric vehicle, the control system (10) comprising control circuitry (30) being configured to measure a torque of an electric motor (50) of said electric vehicle, a speed of said electric motor (50) and a speed of said electric vehicle. Further, the system (10) is configured to determine an instantaneous longitudinal tyre force of at least one tyre of said electric vehicle and determine a target motor speed. Further, the control system (10) is configured to control, by use of a feedforward-feedback controller (20), said speed of said electric motor (50) based on said target motor speed. The feedforward-feedback controller (20) comprises feedback control part and feedforward control part (20a, 20b), wherein the feedforward control part (20b) is configured to, upon control of said speed of said electric motor (50) provide a feedforward electric motor torque having a pre-defined correlation to said instantaneous longitudinal tyre force.
