  "textContent": "The invention discloses a method for a pairwise alignment of a plurality of single drive maps (SDM1, SDM2), each single drive map (SDM1, SDM2) containing a plurality of data objects (6) associated with corresponding fixed objects (4) of a bordered traffic area (1), said data objects (4) being based on a data collection by a respective vehicle (mv1, mv2) when driving through said bordered traffic area (1), wherein a first single drive map (SDM1), based on its respective data objects (6), is converted into a first point cloud containing first points (pj), and a second single drive map (SDM2), based on its respective data objects (6), is converted into a second point cloud containing second points (qj), wherein for each first point (pj), a corresponding second point (qc(j)) is determined, establishing thereby a correspondence relation (c(j)), and a point distance (dj) between each first points (pj) and their corresponding second points (qc(j)) is calculated, wherein the first points (pj) and/or corresponding second points (qc(j)) are sorted based on said point distances (dj), wherein a number of valid first points (pvj) of the first point cloud and corresponding valid second points (qvc(j)) of the second point cloud is selected on the basis of their respective sorted point distances (dj), wherein a weight vector comprising a number of weights (Wj) respectively assigned to the valid first and/or second points (pvj, qvc(j)) is determined on the basis of the valid first and second points' respective point distances (dj), and wherein a rigid transform (R, t) for mapping the second single drive map (SDM2) is derived, said rigid transform (R, t) being determined on the basis of said weight vector and said correspondence (c(j)) of the valid first points (pj) with the respective valid second points (qvc(j)) and/or said point distances (dj).",
