A secondary battery (10) is disclosed that includes an electrode assembly (100) including a first electrode (110), a separator (130), and a second electrode (120), a case (200) having an open first side that accommodates the electrode assembly (100), and having a terminal hole (210) on a second side different from the first side, a cover (300) coupled to the open first side of the case (200), an electrode terminal (500), coupled inside the case (200) to one of the first electrode (110) or the second electrode (120) via a terminal plate (400), and exposed to an exterior of the case (200), a gasket (600) arranged between the case (200) and the electrode terminal (500) on an exterior of the case (200) and inside the terminal hole (210), and an insulator (700) between the case (200) and the terminal plate (400) on an interior of the case (200), wherein at least a portion of one or more of the gasket (600) and the insulator (700) are configured to melt in a set temperature range.
