APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGING BATTERY

The present disclosure relates to a battery management apparatus and method for determining a battery state based on the number of peaks. The battery management apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a profile obtaining unit configured to obtain a differential profile based on a differential voltage and a capacity of a battery; and a control unit configured to calculate the number of peaks included in a target capacity section from the differential profile and determine the type of the battery based on the calculated number of peaks.
