The binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery electrode contains a particulate polymer and water. The particulate polymer includes a polymer that includes an aromatic vinyl monomer unit and a conjugated diene monomer unit. A binder film formed using the binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery electrode has a maximum pressing load of 100 nN or more and an elastic recovery of not less than 120 nm and not more than 200 nm when subjected to a nanoindentation test in which a surface of the binder film is pressed to a depth of 300 nm by an indenter.",
