The sensor component comprises a body having a front end and an opposite rear end, an attachment mechanism extending from the front end configured to temporarily attach the sensor component to the dashboard, and a release mechanism extending from the rear end and operatively coupled to the attachment mechanism. The release mechanism is configured to facilitate causing the attachment mechanism to detach from the dashboard. The attachment mechanism may include an alignment feature configured to align the sensor component with a dashboard feature of the vehicle. The apparatus may further include an electronics component communicatively coupled to the sensor component.",
