The present exemplary embodiments relate to a silicon-based negative electrode active material, a method of preparing the same, and a lithium secondary battery including the same. The silicon-based negative electrode active material according to an exemplary embodiment may have a particle size fraction D1 of 1 μm or more, a D99 of 20 μm or less, and a degree of oxidation of 0.3% to 3.0%.
