The discharge solution includes 0.5 M to 2 M of an alkaline solution and 0.1 M to 3 M of an auxiliary agent. The auxiliary agent includes acetate, citrate, chloride, sulfate, phosphate, oxalate, organic acid, or any combinations thereof. The discharge solution can efficiently and safely discharge the lithium-ion battery and avoid generation of toxic chlorine gas or corrosion of its case caused by chlorine ions, thereby solving the problems of dissolution of internal materials of battery, electrode sticking, and difficulties in subsequent recycling.",
