A battery cell, a method for assembling the battery cell, and a battery pack are provided. In the battery cell, a tab in an electrode assembly extends in a first direction without bending. A connecting sheet is provided on an end surface of a second end of a tab exposed from a main body, and the connecting sheet is welded to the end surface of the second end to form a welding mark extending in a second direction. The tab only needs to be exposed from the main body by a short distance to achieve connection with the connecting sheet, thereby increasing the capacity of the battery cell and enhancing the energy density of the battery cell.
