A Method for Securely Sharing a Digital Vehicle Access Key, a System for Carrying Out the Method and a Hardware Token

A method for securely sharing a digital vehicle access key includes initiating the sharing of a digital key from a server and/or a backend system to a hardware token, wherein the server and/or a backend system is adapted to manage the digital key, and creating the digital key on the hardware token via a secure communication channel. A system for carrying out this method and the hardware token are also provided.
