PROBLEM To provide an airbag device capable of efficiently retaining an airbag cushion in stowed form. RESOLUTION MEANS An airbag device is provided with a bag-shaped airbag cushion in a prescribed rolled or folded stowed form, and a cover member for covering an outer periphery of the airbag cushion in stowed form formed of a ductile fabric material containing a plurality of polymer fibers. The cover member has a hard portion in a state in which at least a portion of the plurality of polymer fibers are melted together, and a soft portion that bends more readily than the hard portion in which the percentage of the plurality of polymer fibers that are melted is at least lower than that of the hard portion . The airbag device is characterized by a state in which the cover member is bent along the soft portion , covering at least a portion of the outer periphery of the airbag cushion in stowed form.
