DRIVE April 15, 2026
Source
An apparatus for a turbine engine (20) includes a fuel-air mixer (66) having an inner passage (130), a sidewall (110), a fuel nozzle (112), an air swirler (116) and a first quench aperture (146A). The inner passage (130) extends axially along an axis (102) within the fuel-air mixer (66). The sidewall (110) extends circumferentially around and axially along the inner passage (130). The fuel nozzle (112) is configured to direct fuel into the inner passage (130). The air swirler (116) is configured to direct swirled air into the inner passage (130) for mixing with the fuel. The first quench aperture (146A) is configured to direct quench air into the inner passage (130) to quench combustion products generated by combusting a mixture of the fuel and the swirled air within the inner passage (130).
