DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY POWER PLANT

Aspects of the present invention relate to a data collection system for a renewable energy power plan comprising a plurality of renewable energy generators. The system comprises a temporary data store in communication with the generators. The temporary data store is configured to: receive a stream of data from at least two of the generators; and temporarily store the received data. The system comprises a permanent data store for storing data for subsequent analysis. The system comprises a processor in communication with the temporary and permanent data stores and a plurality of trigger sources. The processor is configured to, in response to receiving a trigger signal from one of the plurality of trigger sources, cause temporarily-stored data from the temporary data store to be stored in the permanent data store.
