Embodiments relate to a control device (100) for an information display system for displaying an operating state of a hybrid vehicle. The control device (100) comprises an input interface (105) that is configured to receive at least a first operating signal (110), which comprises information about an operating state of an internal combustion engine (115) of the hybrid vehicle, and a second operating signal (120), which comprises information about an operating state of an electric motor (125) of the hybrid vehicle. The control device (100) further comprises a processor (130) that is configured to generate a display signal (135) such that a display device (140) produces a display of a circular or annular display area (202), within which information about the operating state of the internal combustion engine (115) is displayed in a first segment of the circular or annular display area (202) and information about the operating state of the electric motor (125) is displayed in a second segment of the circular or annular display area (202). The control device (100) further comprises an output interface (145) that is configured to provide the display signal (135) to the display device (140).
