TURBOCHARGER-EQUIPPED INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

DRIVE September 7, 2016
Source
A turbocharger-equipped internal combustion engine includes an exhaust turbine (27), an exhaust filter (84), a differential pressure detector (92), an atmospheric pressure sensor (93), and an electronic control unit (90). The electronic control unit (90) is configured to control the internal combustion engine such that accumulation amount of a particulate matter in the exhaust filter (84) is regulated. The electronic control unit (90) is configured to control the internal combustion engine such that the accumulation amount of the particulate matter in the exhaust filter (84) is increased, when the pressure difference detected by the differential pressure detector (92) is a lower limit or less. The electronic control unit (90) is configured to set the lower limit such that the lower limit becomes a higher value as the atmospheric pressure detected by the atmospheric pressure sensor (93) becomes lower.
