The invention relates to a component (1) comprising a cushion (2), said cushion comprising a padding body (3) - in particular made of elastically compressible polyurethane foam - and a covering cap (4) fitted over said body, said cap comprising two covering pieces (5a,5b) of covering material assembled edge to edge by a seam (6) defining a seam allowance (7) turned towards the interior of said cap, said allowance being formed of two respective strips (8a,8b) of each of said pieces, each of said strips being folded back against the reverse side (9a,9b) of the piece (5a,5b) from which it originates and fixed without additional seam against said side.
