"textContent": "Method for introducing microwave energy into a combustion chamber of a reciprocating internal combustion engine with at least one cylinder with a cylinder head, wherein the microwaves enter the combustion chamber via a microwave window, the microwaves being guided around the circumference of the combustion chamber and coupled radially into the combustion chamber via at least one region of a combustion wall acting as a microwave window. In the internal combustion engine, the combustion chamber has, at least in regions, a combustion chamber wall acting as a microwave window, which is surrounded by at least one circumferential waveguide annular space with at least one feed for the microwave and with at least one outlet opening for the microwave directed toward the combustion wall. The method and the internal combustion engine make possible precise control of the start of spatial ignition of a fuel-air mixture in a combustion chamber, so that optimum low-emission combustion of the fuel is achieved with an efficiency increased compared to conventional reciprocating internal combustion engines. Generally, the invention enables safe ignition of lean fuel-air mixtures.",
