BRAKE SYSTEM

In the braking system (A) according to the invention the connection of the master cylinder (10) and the slave cylinder (20) to the wheel brakes (FL,RR,RL,FR) can be switched by a first switching valve (51) and a second switching valve (52), and the communication with the slave cylinder (20) can be cut off by a first cutoff valve (61) and a second cutoff valve (62). This enables the fluid pressures which are applied to the wheel brakes (FL,RR,RL,FR) to be put in the various states without having a complex configuration, thereby making it possible to control the fluid pressures with good efficiency in such a way as to match suitably the conditions of the brake system (A) and the conditions of the vehicle.
