The invention relates to a structural subassembly of a motor vehicle, comprising a crash beam (1) extending in the transverse direction (Y) of the vehicle, connected at each of its ends to a substantially vertical transverse wall (2) of the vehicle structure by means of a corresponding crash absorber (3; 4) extending in the longitudinal direction (X) of the vehicle. A first absorber (3) located at a first end of the beam (1) comprises a first end plate (5) provided with a pre-retention orifice (9) fitted onto a weld stud (10) secured to the transverse wall (2), while a second absorber (4) located at a second end of the beam (1) comprises a second end plate (6) provided with an edge (11) cooperating with a pre-retention hook (12) located on the transverse wall (2), the end plates (5; 6) being furthermore fixed to the transverse wall (2) by a plurality of fastening screws (13; 15).
