UNDERRUN PROTECTION DEVICE

The present invention relates to an underrun protection device for a cargo transport vehicle, comprising an elongated, normally horizontally arranged underrun protection barrier and at least one holding device for fastening the underrun protection barrier at the rear end of the vehicle frame, wherein the holding device has an adjustment mechanism in the form of at least one scissor adjustment mechanism, so that the underrun protection barrier is movable by the scissor adjustment mechanism in order to adjust the underrun protection barrier between a securing position blocking the area to be secured and a release position freeing the area, wherein the holding device, in addition to the scissor adjustment mechanism, comprises at least one further adjustment mechanism for adjusting the underrun protection barrier, which is selected from the group comprising a pivot adjustment mechanism, a telescopic adjustment mechanism, and an additional scissor adjustment mechanism.
