Source
Internal combustion engine with - at least one prechamber (2), which is connected via a prechamber supply line (3) for supplying the prechamber (2) with a fuel (F), - at least one main combustion chamber (4), wherein fuel (F) in the main combustion chamber (4) can be ignited by an ignition jet passing from the at least one prechamber (2) into the at least one main combustion chamber (4) and generated by ignition of fuel (F) in the prechamber (2), whereby at the prechamber supply line (3) for reducing a pressure difference between a prechamber gas supply and the at least one main combustion chamber (4) at least one valve (6.1, 6.2) is provided, - which can be controlled or regulated by means of a control or regulation device (5) as a function of a variable characteristic of a change in the power delivered by the internal combustion engine (1), and/or - by means of which a prechamber fuel flow directed through the prechamber supply line (3) to the at least one prechamber (2) can be at least partially diverted into a volume separate from the at least one prechamber (2).
