INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH EGR COOLER

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with a combustion chamber and an exhaust system into which exhaust gas (10) leaving the combustion chamber can be introduced and which has an exhaust gas recirculation by means of which the exhaust gas (10) can be at least partially recirculated into a combustion air supply (5) for supplying the combustion chamber with intake air (12), wherein a heat exchanger unit (9) is provided in the exhaust gas recirculation, with which heat energy can be removed from the exhaust gas (10), wherein a compressor unit (7) is provided which compresses intake air (11) taken from the environment and which can direct the compressed intake air (11) through the heat exchanger unit (9) provided in the exhaust gas recirculation. According to the invention, the compressed air (9) heated in the air-cooled heat exchanger unit (9) of the exhaust gas recirculation is supplied to a further heat exchanger unit, wherein the further heat exchanger unit is a heat exchanger integrated into the engine cooling system.
