"textContent": "The invention relates to an internal combustion engine (1) with a housing (2) and at least one cavity (3) disposed therein for flow through by a cooling liquid (12) for cooling the internal combustion engine (1) and with an exhaust gas cooler (4) for cooling exhaust gas (11) to be supplied to a combustion process. Essential to the invention is that: - the exhaust gas cooler (4) is designed as a stacked disk cooler with at least two stacked disks (5), a cover plate (6) and a mounting plate (7) for screwing to the housing (2) of the internal combustion engine (1), - the exhaust gas cooler (4) in a state screwed to the housing (2) projects into a cavity (3) of the housing (2) through which cooling liquid (12) flows, - the mounting plate (7) has at least at an exhaust gas inlet (8) a spacer element (9) protruding in the direction of the adjacent stacked disk (5) that increases a distance between the mounting plate (7) and the adjacent stacked disk (5) and positions the exhaust gas cooler (4) deeper in the cavity (3).",
