In order to be able to precisely and in particular rapidly control both the timing and the duration and thus also the quantity of the injection of main combustion gas as well as of ignition fuel for the precombustion chamber completely independently of one another in a combustion gas supply and ignition device for a gas engine (1) with a combustion chamber injection nozzle (12), in which a number of injection channels (37) for a main combustion gas are provided and the injection channels (37) are connected to a main combustion gas supply line (24) for main combustion gas, in which a main combustion gas valve (21) is arranged, and in which the combustion chamber injection nozzle (12) furthermore has a number of torch channels (52) for hot combustion gas provided and the torch channels (52) are connected to a precombustion chamber (15) in the combustion gas supply and ignition device (10), wherein an ignition fuel supply line (17) opens into the precombustion chamber (15) and in the ignition fuel supply line (17) a precombustion chamber valve (18) is arranged, it is provided that both the main combustion gas valve (21) as well as the precombustion chamber valve (18) are designed as electrically actuated, electronically controlled valves.
