The carcass (114) comprises a carcass reinforcing ply (118), opposing bead portions (130a, 130b) and opposing sidewalls (120a, 120b). The carcass reinforcing ply (118) has a main portion (118a) extending between the opposing bead portions (130a, 130b) and a pair of turnup portions (118b), each turnup portion (118b) extending from one end of the main portion (118a). The carcass ply (118) further comprises reinforcing cords and a plycoat. Each bead portion (130a, 130b) has a bead core (132) and a bead apex (134). Each bead apex (134) is in contact with the plycoat. The plycoat comprises a plycoat rubber composition comprising a first methylene acceptor. The apex (1134) comprises an apex rubber composition comprising a second methylene acceptor and a methylene donor, wherein the amount of methylene donor is in stoichiometric excess relative to the second methylene acceptor.",
