DRIVE
June 29, 2016
The invention relates to an apparatus comprising: a processor; and a memory including computer program code for one or more programs, the memory and the computer program code configured to, with the one processor, cause the apparatus to perform the following, process sensor data to determine a road-vehicle friction change associated with a travel segment; cause a comparison of the road-vehicle friction change to a guideline friction map; and determine a response action to the road-friction change based on the comparison. The road-vehicle friction change may be associated with an autonomous vehicle, a highly-assisted driving vehicle, or a combination thereof operating in an autonomous mode of operation. The invention also relates to a method comprising: processing of sensor data to determine a road-vehicle friction change associated with a travel segment; comparing the road-vehicle friction change to a guideline friction map; and determining a response action to the road-friction change based on the comparison.
