APPARATUS FOR SWITCHING DRIVING MODES OF VEHICLE AND METHOD OF SWITCHING BETWEEN MODES OF VEHICLE

An apparatus for switching between driving modes of a vehicle (100) with an automatic driving system (225d), comprising: an input unit for receiving an input to switch from an automatic driving mode to a manual driving mode; a speed sensor (225c) for determining a current speed of the vehicle; a display unit (201) on which a first indicator indicating the current speed of the vehicle when the vehicle is in the automatic driving mode is displayed; a pedal sensor (225g) for determining a current displacement distance of an accelerator pedal (120); a controller (212) for determining a virtual speed according to the current distance displacement of the accelerator pedal (120) when an input is received that requests switching of the automatic driving mode of the vehicle to the manual driving mode if the vehicle is in the automatic driving mode and displays a second indicator indicating the virtual speed on the display unit (201), and for switching the automatic driving mode to the manual driving mode when the virtual speed is similar to the current speed of the vehicle.
