The present invention relates to a charging device (1), in particular a turbocharger, with a first component (3) which is prestressed by means of a spring element (4) against a second component (5). What is essential to the invention is that the spring element (4) is designed as a retaining ring that is open at one location. By this means, in particular high thermal and/or mechanical loads on the spring element (4) can be avoided.
