"textContent": "The invention relates to a method for engaging an electric parking brake device of a motor vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, which is equipped with a manually operated emergency stop actuating element and a disconnecting device for disconnecting an electrical power supply unit from the vehicle electrical system as a result of actuation of the emergency stop actuating element. The method comprises the steps: (a) if a speed of the motor vehicle upon actuation of the emergency stop actuating element is not greater than a predetermined first threshold value (v1), then: (a1) engaging the electric parking brake and (a2) setting a delay time of the disconnecting device to a first value; and (b) if the speed of the motor vehicle upon actuation of the emergency stop actuating element is greater than the predetermined first threshold value (v1), then: (b1) setting the delay time of the disconnecting device to a second value, which is greater than the first value, (b2) transmitting a braking request to the electric service brake and (b3) engaging the electric parking brake as soon as a speed of the motor vehicle is less than or equal to a predetermined second threshold value. The invention further relates to a device for controlling an electric parking brake device and for controlling a disconnecting device for disconnecting an electrical power supply unit from the vehicle electrical system.",
