The present invention relates to an aeraulic device (10) for cooling an element (12) of a rail vehicle, the aeraulic device (10) being intended to be placed on the roof of said rail vehicle and comprising a duct (24), which extends substantially longitudinally with respect to the rail vehicle and which comprises successively a front portion (32), provided with a front opening (28) for air intake, a central portion (34), in which is housed said element (12) to be cooled, and a rear portion (36), provided with a rear opening (30) for air evacuation. A surface of a cross-sectional area of the duct (24) evolves, from the front opening (28) to the rear opening (30), in such a manner as to generate an acceleration of the air flow in the duct (24) by Venturi effect.
