The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with a crankcase in which a crankshaft is rotatably mounted, to which at least one connecting rod carrying a piston is hinged, wherein the piston is movable in a cylinder covered by a cylinder head, wherein gas exchange valves are installed in the cylinder head, which are connected via gas exchange passages to an exhaust gas line and a charge air line, and wherein an exhaust gas turbocharger is provided, which is fastened to the internal combustion engine by means of a bracket and is connected to the exhaust gas line and the charge air line.
