Various embodiments relate to a vehicle for performing minimum risk maneuvers and a method of operating the same. An autonomous driving vehicle includes at least one sensor configured to detect surrounding environment of the vehicle to generate surrounding environmental information, a processor configured to monitor the status of the vehicle to generate vehicle state information and control autonomous driving of the vehicle, and a controller configured to control the operation of the vehicle under the control of the processor.
