"textContent": "The invention relates to a method for balancing an energy storage system (1), wherein the energy storage system (1) comprises a series connection of storage modules (2,21), wherein the series connection of storage modules (2,21) has at least two capacitive storage modules (2), wherein the capacitive storage modules (2) are connected to a balancing device (4) such that by means of a current flow between the balancing device (4) and the capacitive storage modules (2), a charge of the capacitive storage modules (2) can be influenced in each case, wherein the capacitive storage modules (2) each have a capacitance (C i ). For an optimized energy supply system, a method with the following steps is proposed: - determination of the capacitance (C i ) of the capacitive storage modules (2) in each case, - determination of a module charge (Q eq_i ) for the capacitive storage modules (2) at least from a voltage (U i ) of the respective capacitive storage module (2) and a prescribable balancing voltage (U eq_i ), - determination of a reference charge (Q ref ) at least from the module charges (Q eq_i ) of the capacitive storage modules (2), - determination of a balancing charge (Q sym_i ) for the capacitive storage modules (2) in each case at least from the reference charge (Q ref ) and the module charge (Q eq_i ) of the respective capacitive storage module (2), and - influencing the charge of the capacitive storage modules (2) in each case by exchange of the respective balancing charge (Q sym_i ) between the respective capacitive storage module (2) and the balancing device (4).",
