Device (1) for protection against misfueling, comprising a housing (2) and a locking element (9) arranged in the housing (2), wherein the locking element (9) has at least one locking lug (14) over its circumference and the housing (2) has at least one housing lug (8) associated with the locking lug (14), wherein the locking lug (14) forms a locking connection (17) with the associated housing lug (8), wherein the locking lug (14) and the associated housing lug (8) are designed such that the locking connection (17) is reversibly released by insertion of a suitable fuel nozzle, so that the locking element (9) is subsequently axially movable relative to the housing (2), whereby a separating element (20) is exposed and refueling is enabled.
