The method includes estimating a braking factor (k) for a braking system for a vehicle, in which the braking factor (k) is by applying the following equation: k = a + b * V + c * p + d * T + f * p, in which a, b, c, d and f are model parameters, V is a velocity of the vehicle, p is a braking pressure, and T is a brake temperature.
