The invention relates to a fuel injector (10), in particular a common rail injector, with an injector housing (11) in which a high-pressure chamber (15) is formed, which can be supplied with pressurized fuel via a supply bore (19) arranged in the injector housing (11), with at least one injection opening (12) formed in the injector housing (11) and connected at least indirectly to the high-pressure chamber (15) for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, with an injection element (16) which releases or closes the at least one injection opening (12), and with a measuring device (30) for at least indirectly detecting the pressure in the high-pressure chamber (15) or the supply bore (19), wherein the measuring device (30) is configured to detect an elastic deformation of a deformation region (27) arranged in operative connection at least indirectly with the supply bore (19) or the high-pressure chamber (15), wherein the measuring device (30) comprises a sensor element (32) which is connected on the side facing the deformation region (27) to the deformation region (27) via a material-locking connection (38), and wherein the sensor element (32) is configured to detect stresses, in particular tensile stresses, occurring in the deformation region (27) during deformation. According to the invention, it is provided that the material-locking connection (38) is formed only in a partial region (42; 46) between the deformation region (27) and the surface of the sensor element (32) facing the deformation region (27).
