The invention relates to a battery carrier (1) for holding battery elements for the provision of electrical energy in electrically driven vehicles. The battery carrier has a battery tray (2) with a reinforcement structure (16) which is arranged on the outside in front of a side wall (4, 5) of the battery tray (2). The reinforcement structure (16) comprises an inner profile (17) and an outer profile (18), wherein the inner profile (17) is configured in cross-section as U-shaped with a web (19) and two legs (20, 21) as well as an opening (22), wherein the legs (20, 21) of the inner profile (17) point away from the battery tray (2) and the opening (22) of the inner profile (17) is closed at least in sections along the length by the outer profile (18).
