REVERSING WARNING SYSTEM FOR ADAPTIVE CONTROL OF REVERSING WARNING ALARM
DRIVE
April 27, 2016
The invention relates to a reversing warning system for adaptive control of the reversing warning device of a vehicle, wherein the reversing warning device activates an acoustic or an optical-acoustic signaling device when the vehicle is backing up, and wherein a control unit is provided with which the acoustic signaling device can be influenced in its volume and/or switched off. According to the invention, a modification unit (12) is provided which, depending on the geographical position currently occupied by the vehicle, determines by means of stored and/or infrastructure-derived information whether a modification of the volume level of the reversing warning device is to be performed, and which, in the event that a modification is to be performed, acts upon the control unit (2) such that it switches off the acoustic signaling device (9) or reduces it in volume during reverse travel.
