METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATING A VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

The invention relates to a method for operating a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, wherein the vehicle (1) has a first fuel storage device (3), in particular a fuel tank, in which a primary fuel (4), in particular a diesel fuel, for operating an internal combustion engine (5), in particular a diesel engine, of the vehicle (1) is stored, and wherein the vehicle (1) has a second fuel storage device (7), in particular a fuel tank, in which an oxygenate fuel having a higher oxygen content than the primary fuel is stored as a secondary fuel (8) for operating the internal combustion engine (5). According to the invention, a control and/or regulation device (21) is provided, by means of which the quantity ratio of primary and secondary fuel (4, 8) supplied to a combustion chamber (11) of the internal combustion engine (5) is regulated and/or controlled as a function of a current and/or future increase in the total fuel injection quantity into the combustion chamber (11).
