Vehicle component with heat shield and method for manufacturing the same

It is proposed a vehicle component equipped with a heat shield. The vehicle component is made from a thermoplastic material. The heat shield (20) comprises: - a reinforcement layer (21) made from a thermoplastic material which is weldable to the thermoplastic material of the vehicle component; the reinforcement layer being welded to a wall of the vehicle component; and - a heat shielding material which differs from the thermoplastic material of the reinforcement layer and which is configured for reducing the transfer of heat through the reinforcement layer to the vehicle component.
