A FILTER ELEMENT FOR THE FILTERING OF FLUID WITH A FOLDED FILTER MATERIAL

The invention relates to a filter element for filtering fluid (18), in particular air, which flows through the filter element (20), with a pleated filter material (26), wherein fold edges (32) of the pleats (28) define a raw-side inflow side (40) of the filter element (20) and a clean-side outflow side (42) of the filter element (42). Essential to the invention is that the filter element (20) has at least one filter material stabilization element (48), that the at least one filter material stabilization element (48) has a stabilization section (50) which has a contour (51) that is adapted to a contour (53) of the filter material (26), that the stabilization section (50) rests against the filter material (26) in order to stabilize the filter material (26), and that the at least one filter material stabilization element (48) has a flow guide section (56) which is opposite the stabilization section (50) and protrudes over the raw-side inflow side (40) and/or over the clean-side outflow side (42) of the filter element (20). Furthermore, the invention relates to a filter having such a filter element (20).
