METHOD FOR OPERATING A COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE
DRIVE
March 30, 2016
The invention relates to a method for operating a compressed air system of a vehicle, with an electronically controlled air drying device which has at least two drying cartridges that operate in mutual alternation or independently of one another in a delivery operation for drying compressed air generated by means of a compressor for supplying the compressed air system and in a regeneration operation for removing moisture accumulating in the drying cartridges, wherein the moisture content of the drying cartridges is continuously detected or calculated. In order for the compressed air system to behave in a powerful and yet energy-saving and low-corrosion manner during operation, it is provided that delivery periods and regeneration periods of the drying cartridges are coordinated with one another by means of control measures as a function of their respective current moisture content or a quantity derived from or equivalent to this. This takes place in such a manner that these control measures counteract an unequal moisture content of the drying cartridges compared to one another in the direction of a reduction of the moisture content.
