The invention relates to a roof frame for a tarpaulin structure (1) of a transport vehicle (4), in particular of a railway wagon (4), comprising a plurality of carriages (8) displaceable along a lateral guide (7), wherein at least one or more of the carriages (8) has at least one pivot bracket (12) pivotably connected thereto, which assumes a larger angle to the vertical when the tarpaulin structure (1) is closed than when the tarpaulin structure (1) is open. A roof frame having favorable properties in operation and at the same time releasing a comparatively large opening is created according to the invention in that at least one or more of the carriages (8) has at least one link (13) connected thereto, which has a coupling (14) with a link (13) of a carriage (8) adjacent with respect to a common guide (7), in that a lifting bracket (15) is arranged in the area of the coupling (14), and in that the coupling (14) is axially displaceable relative to the lifting bracket (15) at least in a vertical direction.
